Doing a fix up our houses has lots of ramifications. It's great for future for resale, it's important
for the mood as clutter and dated furniture/appliances has a depressing effect and it's a creative outlet for design and one's individual identity.
Here's a tip to help improve your home before you sell it. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money but can have a very nice aesthetical effect. Being conscious of things like the appearance of your entry way, adding a little bit of nice wood molding or some mirrors etc can make a big difference:
In each of your rooms, you should have three primary goals:
1. Depersonalize the room by taking away family pictures, removing everything from your refrigerator and other similar surfaces, and taking posters and trophies out of kids’ rooms.
2. Clear away high-traffic areas of excess furnishings and other belongings, to give the highest impression of space and comfort.
3. Highlight the primary features of every room, making sure that they have not been hidden or obscured by furnishings, plants, or other belongings. Such primary
features include:
H Fireplaces
H French doors
H Tubs with jets
Beyond these, keep the following tips in mind when you prepare your house to be sold. Keep your eyes open for the “rapid fire” section at the end of each room, for quick additional tips to give that final polish to each room
